Responsibilities and duties of the Mechanical Contract Manager role
Reporting to the Mechanical Contract Manager you will:
* Project manage mechanical handling design projects from tendering to commissioning.
* Prepare estimates, tenders and functional/technical design specifications.
* Manage projects and a team of multidisciplined engineers.
* Liaise with external suppliers and client representatives.
* Comply with relevant regulations and procedures.
* Manage effective and ‘on-time’ service delivery.
Professional qualifications
We are looking for someone with the following:
* Qualified to minimum HNC in mechanical engineering.
* Proven track record in managing complex mechanical engineering projects, and a demonstrable background in the design and application of mechanical handling systems across a diverse range of large turnkey engineering projects.
* Relevant people management experience
* Experience in project and contract management, estimating and tendering.
* Familiarity with NEC contract conditions
* Knowledge of relevant, current statutory legislation, including the European Machinery Directive
