Support WorkerPay rate: £15.00 per hour Shift Pattern: Full time days shifts - 8:30am - 16:30pmWe've got a rewarding opportunity for the right person to work with an individual living in their family home in Fordingbridge.This person has learning disabilities, a communication disorder, autism, epilepsy and challenging behaviour but this does not define them.More interestingly they have a great sense of humour and have a wide range of hobbies such as football, going for walks and playing with their dog.To make the most of trips out and about, we need people who are local to Fordingbridge and know the area.Enriching activities will be an important factor in your support, and you will bring a wonderfully empathetic approach to truly make a difference to this person’s life. You will also need to bring previous experience with you in the following:Experience working with individuals with autism is preferred.Strong observational skills and attention to detail.Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.Patients, empathy, under positive attitude.Creativity and imagination to engage the person we support in meaningful ways.Physically fit and able to support them with moving and handling.What will your shift involve?In this role, you will be providing high-quality care on a 2:1 basis, ensuring that the individual you support receives compassionate and attentive care tailored to their specific needs. Your responsibilities will include:Engage the person we support in various activities, ensuring he feels included and motivated.Foster trust and encourage meaningful conversations with them.Be attentive and responsive to their needs, always observing and listening to his cues.Understand that the client may find it hard to engage initially, so creativity and imagination or essential.Recognise that they can be very challenging when he feels scared or unsafe and it's important to make every day a new day, learning from the previous day's experiences.More about Acuity Care GroupWe have been around for nearly 20 years so know our stuff!
