As well as Tamworth this site is also easily accessible from Lichfield, Burntwood, Ashby-de-la-Zouch, Atherstone, Little Aston, Aldridge, Walsall, Bloxwich, Great Wyrley, Rugeley, Burton-on-Trent, Nuneaton and the surrounding areas.At Tarmac, ‘who you are’ matters. If you share our values and are proud of a job well done, collaborative in working well with others and ambitious to make things better, then have a read of what we have on offer.Main ResponsibilitiesReporting to Senior Operations Manager the role ofQuarry Manager will have full responsibility covering quarrying and daily operations, leading all Tarmac and contractor personnel working in the quarry areas, with safety as key priority.Key Accountabilities:Motivate, develop and train quarry personnel and contractors to ensure they continue to meet the competency requirementsDevelopment of the Quarry annual plan and budgets. Ongoing responsibility for the quarry cost control and forecastingProject management of projects within the quarry within agreed timescales and budget.Apply all relevant Environmental legislation – EMS, EMASEnsure the quarry is operated within the scope of all leases, planning consents and conditionsEnsure good public relations are developed and maintained and all complaints fully investigated through open communication with all stakeholders and the local communityEnsure compliance with all relevant HSE legislation, in particular the Quarries Regulations 1999Develop and maintain the Quarries’ health and safety document to fully meet the QR requirementsImplement and ensure compliance with Tarmac health and safety systems / standards and best practicesEnsure that all work undertaken in the quarry is risk assessed and safe-working procedures put in placeThe Ideal CandidateThe ideal candidate for the role ofQuarry Manager will demonstrate proven experience working within a similar environment managing teams and staff development and preferably have experience gained as a section 8.1.cSuitable candidates for this role ofQuarry Manager will have:Industrial Sand Quarry and processing experience preferredExperience of undertaking risk assessments and developing safe working proceduresExcellent Customer engagement skillsProject management experience including effective budgeting and cost control skillsExperience of building successful relationships with internal and external stakeholders, particularly with the local communityFlexibility for participation in “on call” rota with the Production TeamDiploma in Quarry Technology or equivalent relevant experienceNVQ level 4 in Health Safety and Environmental Management in QuarryingRegistered Institute of Quarrying or other professional body CPDSHE NVQ Level 4 preferredLevel 4 Geotechnical preferredWhy TarmacWe’re working hard to create a dynamic and inclusive environment and it’s important that our people come from a variety of different backgrounds.In addition to the role of Quarry Manager we also offer an extensive range of career development opportunities and industry-leading rewards, incentives and benefits including: Bonus scheme Enhanced holiday entitlement Contributory pension scheme Access to the Tarmac Reward website with discounts on retailers, holidays, etc. Access to our Employee Assistance helpline for free and confidential advice Access to join our Employee Communities (employee networks) we currently have nine communitiesinc.(REACH) Religious, Ethnic, Cultural Heritage, LGBTQ+, Parents & carers, Ability, Wellbeing, Female voice and menopauseTraining and development opportunities Interested?
