Liverpool Football Club is recruiting a Senior Infrastructure Engineer to join our Digital Team, to maintain, develop, and support the Club’s core IT infrastructure.This role ensures a robust, cost-effective environment that meets evolving business needs, while providing 3rd line support for match days, stadium events, technical projects, core systems, and Helpdesk escalations. You will also lead IT support coordination for match days and other events.What will you be doing?Configure and manage Intune for secure device management.Manage user accounts, group policies, security settings, and ensure documentation and policies are updated.Maintain Hyper-V infrastructure, including virtual machines, storage, and networking.Provide 3rd line support, resolve incidents, and engage with third-party support as needed.Assist with infrastructure projects and drive automation for repeatable outcomes.Identify and implement improvements using best practices and innovative technologies while adhering to SLAs.Implement, monitor, and enforce standards and procedures for efficient infrastructure operation.Manage core IT infrastructure security across perimeter, endpoint, server, network, email, and cloud environments.Monitor IT services for security compliance and report incidents to support incident management teams.Collaborate with 2nd line support to ensure seamless service and develop common standards across teams.Provide 3rd line IT support for core infrastructure, including match days, stadium events, and specialised systems.Manage core network environments, including switching, routing, Wi-Fi, WAN, and perimeter networks.Maintain shared services infrastructure, including operating systems, virtual servers, business applications, remote access, and cloud-based storage.Develop and maintain vendor relationships, monitor service levels, and ensure contracts support infrastructure needs.Who are we looking for?Deep understanding and experience of Networking and the configuration and management of (preferably) Cisco Firewalls, Cisco/Extreme/HP Switches.Technical knowledge in Microsoft 365 services including administration and troubleshooting, Hyper-V and backup technologies.Experienced 2nd / 3rd line support engineer.Familiar with working within ITIL framework or relevant qualification.Strong understanding of core infrastructure security, including perimeter, endpoint, server, network, email, and cloud-based environments.Ability to automate infrastructure tasks using scripting languages such as PowerShell.Familiarity with cloud platforms like AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud, including cloud based networking and security.Experience with tools like Intune for secure and compliant device management.Proven experience in managing and delivering IT projects on time and within budget.Major incident experience.Why should you apply?This isa full-time permanent role working35 hours per week on a 5 out of 7 basis.
