CDM Advisor
Location: Main office at Thorpe Wood House, Peterborough, with flexible working across the Anglian Water region
We’re the @one Alliance – a ground-breaking collaboration between Anglian Water and seven industry-leading partners: Balfour Beatty, Barhale, Binnies, MMB, MWH Treatment, Skanska and SWECO. Together, we deliver over half of Anglian Water’s capital investment programme.
As we prepare for AMP8, our most ambitious period yet, we’ll be delivering an even broader range of innovative and environmentally-driven infrastructure projects – from urban drainage to nature-based solutions like constructed wetlands.
What will you be doing as our new CDM Advisor?
What you’ll do
Oversee and drive CDM compliance across all duty holders
Promote ‘Safe by Design’ principles in all engineering activities
Review and refine CDM processes with subject matter experts
Undertake CDM compliance audits on projects during pre-construction, and deliver compliance reports
Ensure pre-construction information is suitable and sufficient, through robust review and working closely with the project Principal Design Teams.
Carry out on-site Principal Contractor CDM compliance audits.
Ensure designs meet Anglian Water’s ‘Safe to Operate’ standards
Support and train design teams and suppliers in CDM best practices
Partner with Anglian Water CDM leads to pushing innovation while maintaining full compliance
We’re now looking for an experienced CDM Advisor to join our Health & Safety team and champion safety by design across our multi-disciplinary engineering projects.
What you’ll bring:
A qualification in Engineering or Health & Safety
Experience in multi-disciplinary design teams (ideally within infrastructure or water)Solid understanding of CDM regulations and how they apply in design
Passion for creating safer, more sustainable outcomes
Clear communicator with a proactive and problem-solving mindset
