Flexi Bank Speech and Language Therapist

Dysphagia trained speech and language therapist’ Bank or flexible hours considered. Term time only working. Favourable rates of pay - £16.24 - £21.24 per hour, dependent on experience.

Term Time Only (39 weeks per year)

Salutem Care and Education have services across England and Wales supporting adults and children in residential and educational environments.

Full or part-time working will be considered. Term hours only.

Ingfield Manor School is a day and weekly boarding school for 60 pupils and students age 3-19 with neuro-motor impairments such as cerebral palsy. We are one of the UK’s leading Conductive Education providers. Our school is an exciting and rewarding place to work with excellent resources, including a state-of-the-art multi-sensory room.

We require an experienced speech and language therapist to lead on service development initiatives and evidenced based practice around dysphagia management. You will clinically support other speech and language therapy colleagues at the school, lead on training specific to eating and drinking needs and work towards embedding practice amongst all school staff.

The successful candidate will have a sound knowledge of the IDDSI framework and should be at minimum level 'C' in accordance with the RCSLT Dysphagia competency Framework.You should have knowledge of supporting young people with a total communication approach and supporting with use of AAC. Further training and supervision can be offered in this area in line with the IDDSI and dysphagia competency framework.

Responsibilities:

To implement group and individual communication programs in
Collaboration with the team and to be involved in associated planning and
preparation and share expertise and knowledge.
To be responsible for the integration of the school’s communication strategy
To enable pupils to access the whole curriculum.
To assess, plan and implement low and/or high AAC pathways for children
who require a communication strategy
To develop and create AAC resources, delegating to others as appropriate
Assessment of communication and oral skills needs for group /groups of pupils
