We are currently looking for a Multi Skilled Operative to join our friendly Recycling and Rail team based at our Barham site, close to Ipswich in Suffolk. This role is commutable from Ipswich, Great Blakenham, Claydon, Hadleigh, Needham Market, Rushmere, Warren Heath, Kesgrave, Woodbridge, Stowmarket, Bury St Edmunds, Felixstowe, Manningtree, Colchester, Lexden, Highwoods, Diss and the surrounding areas.

Main ResponsibilitiesThe successful candidate for the role of Multi Skilled Operative will have a wide range of responsibilities including (not exhaustive):
Recycling and Plant (both fixed and mobile) Operations
Operating Front End Loading Shovel
Operating the weighbridge in support of the wider operational team
Rail Operations - Railhead
Train unloading via Fixed Plant
Trackside Rail Operations
Operating Mobile and Fixed Plant on site in support of the wider business requirements
Assist with any failures in the delivery of the operation with the support of our operations and production teams
Exceptional time management is essential
Contribute to the continuous improvement of the business you're working for by identifying and taking ownership of opportunities for improvement to the processes you use, the services you will provide and the values you can add to the business
The Ideal CandidateThe ideal candidate for our role of Multi Skilled Operative will be able to demonstrate, or be willing to complete training for:
Secondary school education, GCSE’s etc or equivalent
ESSENTIAL – loading shovel license
NVQ/QCF level 2 in rail operations or industry equivalent – would prove highly beneficial; although training to achieve this qualification will be given to the successful applicant if required
Background in Rail Operations - Shunting would prove beneficial
Computer literate
Experience of working within a busy environment is advantageous as is the ability to work with multiple colleagues and suppliers
