An opportunity is available for a Senior Analyst – Safety Performance and Insights, reporting to the Head of Safety Strategy and Operational Advisory. The Senior Analyst for Safety Performance and Insights will be responsible for the overall management of the NGED safety performance monitoring and reporting.  This includes the provision of health and safety insights and analysis to the NGED business to enable decision making in driving safety performance. 

All locations within the business will be considered for the successful candidate.

As part of our hybrid working approach this role offers a mix of office and home working. Hybrid working can only be considered once your initial training is complete and subject to business need.

Depending on experience, you may initially be appointed at a lower salary until all relevant courses and training are complete.

If you are offered a position, you will be required to successfully complete a basic DBS check that shows any unspent convictions or conditional cautions.

Main Responsibilities
Design and produce regular and ad hoc Performance MI for a range of internal and external stakeholders.
Collaborating with various teams to understand their data and reporting requirements and assist in providing data/reports to make data-driven decisions.
Ensure monthly or quarterly delivery dates are achieved for Safety & Health Performance and Incident reporting.
Working with NG Group Safety reporting teams to ensure that the NGED information used in all Group reporting is fit for purpose and data quality is understood.
Analyse internal and external incident and event data to establish key Safety & Health risks for NGED.
Develop and systemise periodic reporting, shifting from overly manual reporting to user derived (e.g. automated dashboards).
Production and analysis of the Safety Data providing meaningful Safety Performance Indicators (SPI's) and produce status reports that inform safety critical business areas.
Constantly review data to ensure that reporting is relevant and meaningful, seeking new data sources and ways of displaying information to proactively identify safety data trending.
Perform data manipulation, modelling, and visualization using tools such as Power BI Desktop, Power BI Dataflows and Excel
Work closely with the relevant Safety system administrators and central data team to ensure the data is relevant and structured appropriately to drive meaningful reporting.
Support the Safety Management team with the creation of safety-related company briefing material, ensuring data is presented in a consistent format and style
Provide analytical acumen and support to the team, enabling quality output that can be trusted throughout the business

The Ideal Candidate
Experience working in relevant environment(s), i.e., analytics, reporting, data, finance, or risk.
Proficiency in development and manipulation of large, complex datasets.
Experience translating data into meaningful information and presenting to business stakeholders.
Knowledge of the IMS and the investigation process defined within investigation standards.
Knowledge of UK Health and Safety legislation and statutory requirements and experience working in relevant market / context.
Degree (or equivalent) in a safety, risk or assurance related discipline or equivalent experience in a similar role
